Solicitor & Higher Court Advocate
F.C.I. ARB. F.INST.D
John, a practising Solicitor for over 35 years, has wide experience in commercial, civil and criminal litigation, including building arbitration, family and tribunal work. He was one of the first Solicitors to be granted exemption to become a High Court Advocate, giving him the same status as a Barrister in all of the Higher Courts in England and Wales, including the Court of Appeal, in which he has appeared regularly, and the House or Lords. John is the only Solicitor to receive a coveted "Red Bag" awarded by Queen's Counsel for distinguishing himself whilst in a major fraud Trial. This required the consent of the then Lord Chancellor and the Chairman of the Bar Council. This honour has hitherto, in our legal history, been exclusively the province of the Bar. He is regularly instructed as Leading Advocate, assisted by members of the Bar, in substantial and significant cases and, as an Advocate, enjoys a high degree of success in this arena.
In addition to his own Practice, John is also a Senior Consultant and Advocate to Setfords based in Chancery Lane and Cartwright King Solicitors nationwide.
He is also a member of the Institute of Arbitrators, Academy of Experts and Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
